The iconic Route 66 was established in November 11,1926, and officially removed from the United State Highway System on June 27, 1985. 2,448 miles long, Route 66 served as the major route from Chicago to Santa Monica, California for those who migrated west, especially during the Dust Bowl of the 1930’s. Many portions of the highway throughout Illinois, Missouri, New Mexico and Arizon have been designated a National Scenic Byway of the name “Historic Route 66”. Our ornament celebrates the original Highway sign. It has been hand blown and hand painted in Poland by skilled artisans.
