Molten glass is mouth-blown into finely carved molds available only to the Merk Family’s Old World Christmas, before a hot solution of liquid silver is poured inside. The word, coconut has Portuguese and Spanish roots meaning head or skull. The shape and indentations of the coconut s shell resemble facial features.
