Each figural glass ornament is hand crafted in age-old tradition using the same techniques that originated in the 1800’s. Molten glass is mouth-blown into finely carved molds available only to the Merk Family’s Old World Christmas, before a hot solution of liquid silver is poured inside. In 1889, Samuel Leeds Allen patented the Flexible Flyer to sell to children and adults alike. He made these steerable sleds in his farm equipment factory in New Jersey during the farm’s slow season. Today, this nostalgic toy recalls winter fun for the whole family.
